Coming in Spring...
Put a Spring in Your Step
Seniors are the fastest growing demographic in our country. While successfully reaching a mature age is something worth celebrating, seniors often feel ashamed of their limitations.
Coming in April 2017...community volunteers, Girl Scout and Boy Scout troops and Silver Linings Transitions' team members will host a party honoring seniors and celebrating with them their accomplishment of surviving whatever life threw at them.
As a cancer survivor and someone who lost a close friend at 40 to cancer, Jami Shapiro, the company's owner understands that living a long life is not guaranteed. This is why one of the company's mission is to celebrate with seniors their "survivor-hood" rather than being embarassed about the limitiations that usually accompany aging.
“Put A Spring in Your Step” celebrates aging and focuses on the “silver lining” found in aging and the event will include wheelchair, walker and cane decorating in addition to senior crowns, face painting, music and food.
